For parents

Parental guidance

Parents can lock the MtotoSmart Learning App on their phones so a child can only explore and learn within the app, without accidentally changing other things like photos or emails.

Guided Access

The way to lock your apps is to use Guided Access. Guided Access prevents you from leaving the app you have already opened. This is handy when you give your phone to another user for a particular app but are worried they might venture elsewhere without authorisation.

Turn on Guided Access

  1. 1To enable Guided Access, head over to Settings and select Accessibility.
  2. 2Now select Guided Access and enable the toggle.
  3. 3Now head over to Passcode Settings and set a Guided Access Passcode.

Start and end a session

Guided Access locks your device to a single app. To start it, triple-press the power button or the Touch ID button while in the app.

To end Guided Access, triple-press the power button or Touch ID again, enter the secure passcode and tap End at the top right.

Understand Your Child’s Learning Journey

Automatically generated learning reports help parents and guardians gain a clearer picture of how their children are learning.

The reports provide available information about performance, scores, understanding, recorded exercise time and areas where further practice may help. They offer more insight than simply whether an activity has been completed, helping parents see where a child appears confident and where extra support may be useful.

  • Performance insights

Review scores in supported learning activities and assessments.

  • Understanding and progress

Explore performance across the activities covered by the report.

  • Time spent learning

Review exercise time where recorded by the application.

  • Areas for improvement

Identify topics or exercises where more practice may be beneficial.

  • Practical guidance

Use available report recommendations to support continued learning.

Use these insights to support practice at home, discuss learning needs with teachers and encourage your child’s next steps. Reports support educational guidance; they are not clinical assessments or predictions of academic success.

Turn learning activity into useful insights that help you support your child’s next steps.
